The good news is we are all healthy and working vigorously towards producing a crop. We are starting to fill our Greenhouses with flowers, herbs, and vegetable plants for both our customers and production in our fields. Currently we have a number of carry over plants growing in the Greenhouses, as well as a few late season green

Ela Orchard grows many varieties of apples and pears in Rochester, Wisconsin, pressing fresh apple cider each fall. The apple barn opens for the season into winter — no pick-your-own, but you can sample the varieties, and the goats would love your leftover cores.

SunBerry Orchard grows apples, peaches, cherries, strawberries and raspberries on Greenwood Road outside Woodstock, one of three McHenry County locations the Ukrainian-American farm family runs alongside a pasture-raised meat operation. Fall brings u-pick weekends with a smokehouse turning out more than 40 kinds of sausage. The farm also runs markets in Mundelein, Lake Zurich, and Skokie, so the produce travels even when you don't.

SunBerry Orchard grows roughly 150 apple varieties on its Mundelein property, with u-pick apple season running September through October alongside fresh cider, baked goods, and a petting zoo. The family behind it traces its farming roots to Ukraine and opened this location in 2018, building a full farm store and market around the fall apple harvest.

Hillbunker Farms is a small Illinois producer of eggs, honey, and organic produce, sold direct rather than through a grocery chain. Its online presence is limited, so calling ahead or catching them at a local market is the surest way to see what's currently in stock.

McCann Berry Farm closed permanently after the 2026 season, ending 41 years of pick-your-own blueberries northeast of Woodstock. Bob and Mary McCann planted their first strawberry crop in 1982 and later shifted the farm's focus to blueberries, picked Wednesdays and Saturdays each July.
