It sells pre-picked strawberries from August into early October and opens pick-your-own organic raspberries from mid-August through mid-September at $8 a pound. The late strawberry season comes from day-neutral varieties rather than the usual June crop. The farm sits in Rice County, south of the Twin Cities.

Fall brings a 6-acre corn maze, billed as the largest south of the river, plus a u-pick pumpkin patch with more than 30 varieties of pumpkins, gourds, and squash, hayrides, yard games, and a corn box.

The red shed also sells frozen berries by the bag or 28-pound bucket, local honey, maple syrup, and jams, and the family sells at farmers markets across the south metro.

Afton Raspberry Company is a pick-your-own raspberry farm on Neal Avenue South in Afton, east of the Twin Cities near the St. Croix River. The fields open seven days a week, 8am until dark, through the summer raspberry season. It sits in the same orchard-rich pocket of Washington County as several apple farms.

This is the strawberry side of Pine Tree Apple Orchard at 450 Apple Orchard Road near White Bear Lake. Pick-your-own strawberries run a short window from mid-June into early July, before the orchard closes to prep for apple season. The same farm reopens in mid-August with 25 apple varieties, a bakery, and fresh cider.

Rainbow Ridge Blueberry Farm grows u-pick blueberries near Welch, in the Cannon River area southeast of the Twin Cities. Picking opens in mid-to-late summer when the berries ripen, and hours track the crop, so call before heading out. A single-crop patch built around blueberry season.
